HEAD SOUND TECHNICIAN Responsibility To: Worship Pastor Job Description: Purpose: To produce the best possible atmosphere for worship through sound reinforcement. To recruit, train, and mentor intern sound technicians. Tasks: 1. Mentoring an Intern Sound Technician a) Responsible for identifying and recruiting an intern sound technician. b) Responsible for operating the sound system and having intern sound technician observe and learn operation of sound system throughout an entire service, at least once a month. c) Responsible for having intern sound technician operate sound system during part of service while you monitor, at least once every 2 months. d) Responsible to report to the Worship Pastor when the intern sound technician appears to be ready to be released to be a sound technician. 2. Scheduling Sound Technicians a) Responsible to schedule the sound technicians for all gathering requiring sound re-inforcement. 3. Sound Equipment a) Responsible to maintain an itemized list of sound equipment needs. b) Responsible to direct/advise the worship pastor with regards to repair, upgrade,or purchase of equipment. Time Required: 2-3 hours per week, when operating sound. Additional time required for training and recruiting. Length of Service: 1 year, renewable (by appointment of worship pastor) Qualifications & Skills Required: 1. A heart for worshiping God. 2. Must have the ability to trouble-shoot system and mix sound properly. 3. Must be able to follow worship pastors direction. 4. Must be able to train sound technicians. 5. Must have commitment to a local church Small Group. Training: 1. Worship Team Practice. 2. OJT, conferences, books, and CDs/DVDs/podcasts relating to job function. Support: small group, Worship Pastor available for individual needs with an appointment.
